- Work instructions are used to determine the job requirements, including method, materials and equipment.
- Job specifications are read and interpreted.
- WHS requirements, including dust and fume collection, breathing apparatus, eye and ear personal protection needs are observed throughout the work.
- Material for attachment is selected.
- Equipment and tooling are identified and checked for safe and effective operation.
- Procedures are determined to minimise waste material.
- Procedures are identified for maximising energy efficiency while completing the job.
- Remove and replace body panels and structures
- Information is accessed and interpreted from manufacturer/ component supplier specifications.
- Replacement components meet specifications for dimensions, materials and functional capability.
- Components and ancillary fittings are refitted using approved adhesive bonding methods, materials and equipment.
- Sealant is selected and applied according to the manufacturer/component supplier specification for type, method of application and thickness.
- Where there is a potential disturbance to electrical, mechanical, electronic or other systems, assistance is sought.
- Removal and replacing/refitting of body panels and structures is completed without causing damage to any component or system.
- Replacement activities are carried out according to industry regulations/guidelines, WHS legislation, and enterprise procedures/policies.
- Workplace/equipment documentation is completed and dealt with relevant to work outcome.
- Clean up work area and maintain equipment
- Material that can be reused is collected and stored.
- Waste and scrap is removed following workplace and environmental procedure.
- Equipment and work area are cleaned and inspected for serviceable condition in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Unserviceable equipment is tagged and faults identified in accordance with workplace requirements.
- Operator maintenance is completed in accordance with manufacturer/component supplier specifications and worksite procedures.
- Tooling is maintained in accordance with workplace procedures.
